When your AC needs attention

Most AC failures give warning signs first. A weak capacitor or a dirty coil is a small repair in May and an emergency in July.

  • Warm or weak air from the vents
  • Outdoor unit humming but the fan won't spin
  • Ice on the refrigerant lines
  • Water near the furnace or air handler
  • AC runs all day and the upstairs is still hot
  • Breaker trips when the AC starts
  • Rising electric bills

FAQ

Cooling questions

Do you repair all AC brands?

Yes. We repair and maintain all major air conditioner, heat pump, mini-split and evaporative cooler brands, and we install Bryant equipment as an authorized dealer.

Should I get an air conditioner or a heat pump?

A heat pump cools exactly like an air conditioner and also heats. With current Xcel Energy and Colorado incentives, a heat pump is often worth comparing. We show you both options side by side.

Do you still service evaporative (swamp) coolers?

Yes. We start up, shut down, repair and replace evaporative coolers, and we can help you compare them with central AC or a heat pump.

Why is my upstairs always hotter?

Usually there isn't enough return air upstairs and too little supply airflow reaching those rooms. A bigger AC won't fix it. We measure the airflow and correct the ductwork.

How often should my AC be maintained?

Once a year, in the spring before the heat arrives. Both of our maintenance plans include a spring AC visit.
